Americans are eating too much and moving too little. About 65 percent of American adults are obese. Recent research shows that moderate activity, such as walking for 30 minutes a day, provides major health benefits.
The Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation has more than twenty-nine exercise trails for your walking pleasure. Safe, clean exercise trails are located throughout the Kansas City Park System:
- Mill Creek Park trail, JC Nichols Parkway, 0.96 mile
- Parade Park trail, Paseo and Truman Road, 0.30 mile
- Loose Park trail, 51st and Wornall, 2.57 miles
- Bannister Park trail, 9800 James A. Reed Road, 0.53 mile
- Platte Purchase Park, N.W. 100th Plate Purchase Drive, 1.00 mile
